Believing in the Church 교회에 대한 믿음

 

The Church is an object of faith.

 

교회는 믿음의 대상입니다.

 

In the Apostles' Creed we pray: "I believe in God, the Father, ... in Jesus Christ, his only Son º in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting." We must believe in the Church!

 

사도신경에서 우리는 이렇게 기도합니다. "전능하사 천지를 창조하신 하나님 아버지를 내가 믿사오며 그 외아들 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 믿사오니 이는 성령으로 잉태하사... 성령을 믿사오며 거룩한 공회와 성도가 서로 교통하는 것과 죄를 사하여 주시는 것과 몸이 다시 사는 것과 영원히 사는 것을 믿습니다." 우리는 교회를 믿지 않으면 안됩니다.

 

The Apostles' Creed does not say that the Church is an organization that helps us to believe in God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. No, we are called to believe in the Church with the same faith we believe in God.

사도신경은 교회가 우리들이 성부, 성자, 성령을 믿도록 도와 주는 기관이라고 말하지 않습니다. 우리가 하나님을 믿는 것과 같은 믿음으로, 우리는 교회를 믿어야 할 소명을 가지고 있습니다.

 

Often it seems harder to believe in the Church than to believe in God. But whenever we separate our belief in God from our belief in the Church, we become unbelievers.

 

흔히 하나님을 믿는 것보다 교회를 믿는 것이 더 어렵게 생각될 때가 있습니다. 그러나 우리가 하나님에 대한 우리의 믿음과 교회에 대한 우리의 믿음을 분리하면 비신자가 되고 맙니다.

 

God has given us the Church as the place where God becomes God-with-us.

 

하나님은 우리들에게 하나님이 우리와 함께 하시는 하나님이 되게 하시는 장소로써 교회를 주신 것입니다.
